Ethnic Origins
The Ethnic Origins is a line of unisex pieces,
including pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets. The name is self
explanatory. Each piece in this line originates from a very ethnic
origin.
Whether depicting tribal symbols, or utilizing the corrugation
that represents the walls and roofs of so many "third" world nations, indigenous of world's peoples.
Predominant currently in this line is a series of
medallions and casted pendants with symbols of Adinkra origin depicted.
They are sterling silver and come in several sizes. Adinkra is a
language of symbols used to decorate the fabrics of people's in West
African.
Each symbol depicts a representation of an idea or
concept. I have chosen only those that promote healing for both bearer
and viewer. I hope that wearing one of these besides being
esthetically beautiful,
reinforces these principles in the client.
The other part of the line is a more contemporary look of corrugated
silver. During my travels, I noticed a common material in most
depressed areas; corrugated metal. I had the idea to represent that
with freeform corrugated pieces. Ancient or contemporary looking,
there is something here to suit everyone's tastes.
